GraphXR Is Now Kineviz

We’re retiring the GraphXR name. The platform and the company are now one thing: Kineviz.

If you use GraphXR today, nothing about your work changes. Same product, same projects, same team — just a new name on the door. Old links will redirect.

The original name made perfect sense at the time. GraphXR was born in the heady days of VR, when we put a Neo4j graph inside a headset. Graph, XR. About as on-the-nose as it gets.

Two things have changed since then: The product, for one, now includes a graph-powered agent, an embedded database, a desktop version, and native support for graph-on-relational engines like Google Spanner, BigQuery Graph and PuppyGraph. But the bigger shift is in the word “graph” itself. It used to be synonymous with a graph database. Now it’s a way of seeing connections in any form of data: tabular, unstructured, geospatial, time series, real-time, and more.

The name Kineviz comes from “kinetic vision.” That describes what the platform delivers today better than what we called a demo in 2018.

And one name is easier to remember than two.
